Just one word to say 'THANK YOU'!!

23 team - you have done a fanatic job! Thanks for the help when needed.

How could you draw on what you have learned in 23 Things to help you in your work?
At the beginning of the program had knew or heard of the tools, but since doing the activities have learnt the new technologies in great depth - all fantastic!

Have really enjoyed RSS, Flickr, iGoolge (excellent tool to have; I have placed all my links to it and now I log into iGoolge first to use), Podcasts and Wikis.

How could the library use the technologies featured in 23 Things to improve its service?
Chats would help with information sessions, YouTube can help for library demonstrations like the 'how to' guides. Flickr is a good way to visual show people what libraries have to offer i.e. quiet study rooms, etc.

How do you think the 23 Things program could be improved in the future?
May be more training sessions such as refreshers on tool that are being used or a more in depth session on a particular tool people may feel they didn't have such time to look at the first time round.

Do you think you'll keep blogging or keep using any of the other tools you learned about?
Yes, I will keeping my blogger, Facebook and iGoolge (especially iGoolge), all the tools I do refer to every now and again to see what is happening out in 'the big world'.

22 Communication Tools

Read all about Google Talk, invited a few people and chatted to them; even sent a few files to 'test' (only problem while trying to response to a question from someone, a file appeared and then had to comment not only one the question, but also on file that was sent at the same time!!).

Have added Google Talk to my iGoogle.

Libraries could use this tool more for 1 to 1 information sessions. It also could be a good tool to use when communicating between library areas or campuses on a particular topic / issue.

21 - Podcast

Found some great podcast that were interesting. Some were book reviews:

20 Watch YouTube

Have found YouTube an interesting tool to use - there are benefits i.e. libraries showing 'how to' search things on catalogues and then there are some really silly things (won't go into details).

A few I found interesting are:

1) Most Beautiful Libraries in the World



2) World Digital Libraries



3) staff who have too much time on their hands

19- Wiki

This 2 images are similar to my pets, I have added them to VU Wikibrary - which I found easy to do.

What I like about wiki is that you can add text, edit pics, etc or whatever to the page you are working on.

18 Thing - Library 2.0, etc

Overall, the journey has been good!!

iGoogle has been create tool to use - like how you have one place where you have collected all sorts of information when needed - saves time and energy trying to find what site you are looking for.

Both LibraryThing and FEEDS have been excellent to use, especially FEEDS when gathering information on the latest topics.

The new technologies involved in Library 2.0 has provided users with more access to things and have helped libraries gather information / feedback when needed. It has helped libraries become more flexible and created new ways of helping users.

Really like Encore TAGS - an excellent way to limit a person's topic when having trouble finding information. The images are fantastic, especially if someone is after a particular item and they know what it 'looks' like.

Thing 17 - Play with Delicious

What a fantastic tool!!!

Found it a great way to manage your own bookmarks.

It's a great alternative way to find information on a particular topic in a hurry.

What I like about Delicious is how you can put together a list of resources and then be able to email that list to patrons who are looking for sites on a particular topic.

Like how you can click onto a TAG and this lists all the sites / links relating to that topic. Fantastic!!!
